Mattel Intellivision Retro Gaming

Mattel Intellivsion

Behold the majesty of the Mattel Intellivision gaming system (1979-1980). All the kids on my block had an Atari, I did not. However, I was the first one to get an Intellivision and I thought I was the shit.

Take a look at this piece of state of the art gaming entertainment. Controllers that look like cheap walkie talkies , and that beautiful puke brown finish.

The wooden trim really adds a touch of class. We can laugh now, but back then we were starving for entertainment. Kids today sure are spoiled!

You know you want one.. Click here to try to get this classic piece of nostalgia.

Mattel Intellivsion MLB Baseball

You want a video game library? Check out these outstanding graphics on my personal favorite Intellivision game, Major League Baseball.

As I was the only kid who owned one at the time, I would practice hours upon hours. Usually I could beat the pants of my friends.

Note: the most important blimp in the game is the short stop, you master him, you can shut your opponent down.

Donkey Kong on the Intellivsion was another one of my favorites. I may need to check my history, but I believe this is where the famous Mario got his start.

The object was to rescue the virtuous princess from the clutches of Kong. You needed to climb ladders, avoid barrels and other debris thrown your way.

There was a decent size game library available for the Intellivision. Space Invaders, Pitfall, Boxing, Asteriods, Pac Man, Burger Time, and many more staples of the time.

The Mattel Intellivision. Obviously laughable to kids nowadays with the advancements in video game technology, but to us, it was video game nirvana.

You can still own this piece of retro gaming nostalgia if you miss it. CLICK HERE TO BID.
